Organizational Strategies

Organizational Development + Design

Organizational Development can sound a lot more stuffy than it is! We believe OD is exhilarating and essential to groups across their life cycles. Our approach to OD is to collaborate with organizations and collectives to adapt or co-create values aligned programming and infrastructures that best support the communities they are a part of.

This work includes but is not limited to:
  • Strategic Planning
  • Board Development
  • Sunsetting + Closure
  • 1:1 or Small Group Leadership Coaching
  • Creating or Adapting Employee Onboarding practices
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Culture Assessment + Change
  • Designing Organizational Infrastructures
Groups the we have supported through organizational change in the past includes:

Diversity + Equity + Inclusion (DEI)

Psych! We don't do Diversity + Inclusion because we believe inclusion is the bare minimum that an organization or business could offer their staff and members.

Our approach at this work centers intersectionality in a work environment and uses that framework to assess what and how an organization wants to grow in their capacities to work with: Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQIA folks, youth, and/or folks with disabilities and then develop trainings and tools according to those needs.

We work with organizations to deepen their understanding of navigating power, privilege and racialized experiences across multiple identities.

Facilitation + Training

Sometimes groups need a break, a breath of fresh air, or an outside perspective. NorthNode offers facilitation, training, and mediation for groups rooted in a people oriented, full service approach that includes: staff interviews, agenda development, experiences designed for multiple learning styles, and non-didactic information sharing in low threshold environments.

This work has previously looked like: training of trainers, SWOT analysis and environment scans, consensus building models and shared decision-making training, staff retreats, and giving/receiving feedback workshops.
Past Facilitation + Training clients have included:

Black Visions
Sovereign Earthworks
TransYouth Support Network
Trans Visible Montana
Other facilitation work includes but is not limited to:

Allied Media Conference
Creating Change Conference
Friends of Camp Little Notch
Mariposa Food Co-op
National Harm Reduction Conference
National Minority AIDS Council Conference
